Yesterday we put the call out for Euro 2012 songs – and already they’ve started to land in the inbox. Here’s the latest, “The Irish Roar” from trad ballad group Na Fianna.

This went out on RTE Radio 1’s John Murray Show on Wednesday morning after a superquick turnaround time in response to a request from the show.

Basically Na Fianna were in studio in Montrose to perform their ditty – a cover of a Pogues song – less than 12 hours after qualification was secured, although we suspect that the lads might have been working on it before Tuesday night.

Na Fianna are a Kilkenny band comprising Damian Walsh, John Walsh, Ross Hennessy and Lee Campion – and you may well already be familiar with them, as they were the runners-up in RTE’s All-Ireland Talent Show a year or two back.

Anyway, here’s their song – and don’t forget, if you’re writing a Euro 2012 song, or you know anyone who us, let us know in the comments below or by emailing [email protected], and if we get enough we might just put it to a great JOE vote.
