Bees delay start of Brazilian football match

This is a first for us. A swarm of bees nearly left a bad taste of Brazilian supporters when they caused the delay of a football game.

Ponte Preto and Atletico Soroncaba had to wait while a swarm of bees made their home on the crossbar. A flame was unsuccessful in getting rid of them, but fire extinguishers eventually seemed to do the trick.

It was Preto who made a bee-line (couldn’t resist) for the three points with a 2-1 victory, with Atletico licking their sweet wounds.
