Bill Roache shocks everyone by revealing he has slept with over 1,000 women

Bill Roache, also known as the incredibly sensible Ken Barlow from Coronation Street, has shocked everyone (and grossed out a few) by admitting that he has slept with over 1,000 women. We’d shake his hand, but we don’t know where it’s been…

The Irish Daily Mirror reports that the Cassanova has a veritable string of conquests – apparently there isn’t enough space on his bed post to mark all the notches he’s collected over the past few years.

In a very frank interview which borders on giving us way too much information, Bill, who turns 80 next month, reveals how his insatiable sex drive earned him the nickname of “C**k Roache” (hah! See what they did there?) and how he regularly cheated on his first wife because he couldn’t control his urges. He also reveals how he has battled alcoholism and depression.

Initially, Bill admitted that he had slept with “more than 100” women, but when pushed about whether the real figure was nearer to 1,000, he replied: “Well, I’m not denying it.”

Oh Bill, you stud.

“Looking back, I didn’t know any better. But what I did find out is it does not bring you happiness and it is not the way to be,” he said.

“I had the opportunity, I indulged it and I can tell you this: it’s not worth it. The pain that it caused, and there’s all sorts of dangers,” he added.

You wouldn’t think to look at him that he’s managed to garner up such a reputation, and despite the fact that he’s old enough to claim a pension, Bill is adamant that he won’t retire. Ever.

“Retiring is not an option. While I can do it and they still want me, I’ll be there,” he says.

We’re not sure if he’s referring to his job on Coronation Street or his fondness for seducing women…
