Boar-riding monkey attacked by raccoon in Japanese zoo

Fukuchiyama Zoo’s famous boar-riding monkey was tragically hospitalised this week after suffering injuries from a racoon attack earlier this week.

Four-month-old Miwa has become inseperable from his boar friend Uribo, also four months old, since both became motherless and shared a zoo cage in early August. The duo have also became an internet sensation since YouTube star ParryGripp created another of his customary literal songs in honour of the zoo attractions.

Miwa needed a few stitches to his arm and leg to repair the damage of his raccoon attack but the zoo expects their star monkey to make a full recovery soon. We have embedded a Japanese TV report of the incident below:
