ESB networks outage in South Dublin

Thousands of homes in South County Dublin are without electricity due to an outage by ESB Networks (and not by Bord Gáis as previously reported).

The blackout is a widespread problem which is currently being remedied by technicians.

There are major problems with at least 10 faults in the general area and crews have been dispatched to the fault sites.

“In a central area it is usually hoped to have customers restored within two hours,” said a representative for Bord Gáils, whose customers have been among those affected by the ESB Networks outage.

“We don’t know the cause at this early stage.”

If usage is not restored within two hours it is advised to call the helpline on 1850 222255 for a further update.
