Chicago river goes green for Paddy’s Day

Numerous landmarks at home and abroad are turning green to mark St. Patrick’s Day and it does every year, Chicago is following suit by dying the river that flows through the Windy City in green.

While it will be more wholeheartedly celebrated at home and in countries with a high percentage of Irish ex-pats, Paddy’s Day will be marked all around the world this weekend as numerous famous landmarks turn green, from Niagara Falls to the Pyramids, from the Burj Al Arab in Dubai to Anfield Stadium in Liverpool.

Chicago has also got in on the act and preparations for Paddy’s Day have already started with the adding of dye to the Chicago River to turn it green and no doubt there’ll be plenty of Irish people, whether they were born in Ireland or whether they’re of Irish ancestry, there to ring it in style.
