Chris Hadfield is really going all out to promote Paddy’s Day today

Forget the Gathering, nobody is doing more to promote Ireland at the moment than Chris Hadfield, who has been very busy updating his Twitter feed with all things Irish today.

If you missed it earlier, Hadfield uploaded a picture of himself clad in a (very questionable) green outfit this morning while also practising his use of Gaeilge for the second time in a matter of weeks.

Hadfield subsequently treated his Irish followers to pictures of Tralee...

And of Derry...

And he also posted a link to a version of ‘Danny Boy’ he recorded in space.

In case you’ve forgotten, this is a man whose recording of a Chieftains' song from space was played live at one of their gigs and whose love for all things Irish seemingly knows no bounds.

If all of this isn’t a subtle hint at honorary Irish citizenship, we don’t know what is.
