Liverpool’s owners FSG briefly confirmed on their website NESN.com that Clint Dempsey will be plying his trade at Anfield next season.
It seems Liverpool’s American owners have decided to let their own TV station, and website, get the scoop on their latest signing.
In a video piece on NESN.com about Liverpool’s upcoming games at Fenway Park, the Boston-based site confirms that Fabio Borini and Clint Dempsey have joined the club. The piece has now been changed and Dempsey’s name removed.
We knew about Borini but Dempsey’s signing was news to the footballing world. An interesting signing, and American of course, but Liverpool fans may be worried that the Fulham man is this season’s Charlie Adam, if he does arrive.
We wondered if someone in Boston was a little too eager and it seems they were. Fulham have said in response that they “have received no bids” and they would also “discourage” any bids.
