Cold snap returns: Ireland will be covered in snow this Friday

Ireland will be covered in snow this Friday, according to Met Eireann’s forecast.

Temperatures have continued to drop over the last few days with sub-zero temperatures expected tonight. We should not, however, expect anything like the previous extreme weather conditions we experienced in December.

Rain and sleet is expected over Connacht, Ulster, west Munster and north Leinster tomorrow but the big chill will return on Thursday night with sharp frost and snow arriving in many areas by Friday morning.

There could be up to 10cm of snow in many areas but Saturday will be less cold with rising temperatures.
