Much like the Uruguayan’s teeth, the powers that be have come down hard for his nibble at Giorgio Chiellini’s shoulder.
FIFA have announced that Luis Suarez will be banned from football for four month and nine international games following his bite on Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini on Tuesday night.
Suarez has been banned from any football activity which means he’s banned from any stadiums hosting official games. The Liverpool striker has also been fined 100,000 swiss francs.
The four month ban will means he’ll be unavailable for the Reds (or Barcelona or Real Madrid) until the end of October.
Suarez was banned for 10 matches for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic in April of last year and in 2010 he was banned for seven matches for biting an opponent while playing for Dutch Eredivisie side Ajax.
Uruguay continue their World Cup campaign without Suarez on Saturday when they face Colombia in the last 16.
