Irish and UK subscribers of Netflix, the online TV and movie streaming website, will be the first in the world to get their hands on season five – even before US subscribers.
Season five of Breaking Bad has already aired in the US and we’re sure many of you have (in one way or another) already seen the first few episodes. Now, while TG4 does show Breaking Bad every Thursday night at 11pm, they’re currently showing the third season and it’ll be another few months before they get close to airing the fifth.
However, Irish Netflix subscribers will be able to access the first eight episodes of season five from November 1. These episodes aired earlier this year on US channel AMC with the second half of season 5 due to air in summer 2013. Strangely enough, US subscribers to Netflix will have to wait a little longer to get their hands on the fifth season.
Speaking about the release of season five on Netflix, Kelly Merryman, vice-president of content acquisition said, “Season 4 broke viewing records for us across the board and we expect fans of the show to be even more excited about season 5-part 1 becoming available so soon after their premiere on television in the United States.”
