Dublin Airport closed until the afternoon

Dublin Airport will be closed until at least 1:30pm today so that snow can be cleared from the runway.

The other airports, Shannon, Knock and Cork, are operating as normal so far today, though it has been recommended that passengers check with with their airline before leaving their home.

Ryanair and Aer Lingus are adding supplementary flights over the next two days in an effort to get people home for Christmas.

The closure of many European airports during the week, including Dublin, has meant there are knock on delays.

Both Irish Rail and Bus Eireann are running a normal service today, with delays expected. The Luas is also operational.
