Mary Byrne is on the verge of quitting the X Factor as she battles with health problems, according to the Irish Daily Star Sunday.
The Tesco worker has admitted she’s suffering from exhaustion after Saturday night’s live show. The 51-year-old was reunited with her daughter Debbie last night after she sang Elton John’s ‘Can You Feel the Love Tonight?’
Mary told Star Sunday she didn’t know how long her dream would last and has considered leaving the competition.
“I’ve thought about quitting many times,†she confessed. “The loneliness has been really getting to me.â€
The Dubliner, who suffers from arthritis and a thyroid problem, said that being away from her daughter has brought its own difficulties. The emotional reunion between mother and daughter on Saturday night was clear for all to see.
“It’s been very hard being away from Deborah,†Mary added. “I’ve been phoning her every night but it’s not the same as actually keeping her.â€
Meanwhile the Irish News of the World claims that Simon Cowell had a shrink on stand-by on Saturday night as Mary sang on stage. Mary was taken out of the X Factor house earlier in the week and put up in a hotel after storming into Simon Cowell's dressing room to rant about the behaviour of other contestants.
Sunday night’s X Factor results sees a star-studded line-up of performers taking the stage. Westlife, JLS and Take That (with Robbie Williams) will all strive to blow the audience and millions of viewers away with show stopping performances.
