The days of your Facebook news feed being just about your friends are over, as the head honchos are going to put ads in there.

We brought you the news a while back that the Facebook News Feed was going to be redesigned in order to make it bigger and push everything else going on in your page to the sidebar.
The obvious question from that then is, where do all those ads that used to be on the side of the page go? The answer is here, as they’re headed into your news feed.
The ads will be targeted to you based on your internet behaviour, so whatever you were last researching to try and buy will now appear nice and big on your page, staring you in the face.
This might be a little upsetting for some people, but we’ll have to assume that Facebook aren’t going to risk losing users over having something in their feeds that looks like spam so it might not be a huge shift from the “sponsored story” pieces which already pop up from time to time.
