Are you an adrenaline junkie with a heart of gold? If so, you might want to get involved with this latest charity event.

The Atlantic Flight Centre at Cork Airport has teamed up with Breakthrough Cancer Research Ireland to offer a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for Ireland’s craziest thrill seekers.

What is this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that we’re speaking about? We think the proper question to ask is the following: are you ready to have your mind blown?

You will be given the chance to fly in Ireland’s only aerobatics airplane and do the ultimate aerobatics manoeuvre: a loop the loop, and all the while, you’ll be helping charity.

Sounds pretty sweet right? But wait, it gets better.

You’ll be flying with one of Ireland’s leading aerobatics instructors in the swish new Bellanca Super Decathlon aircraft – the only one in Ireland.

You’ll also get yourself an official Atlantic Flight Training Academy Aerobatics Certificate on completion, which you can flaunt down the pub and watch all the women in the vicinity swoon over your daredevil ways (and sigh longingly when they find out you did this shizz for charity).

Does it sound like something you’d be interested in? To get involved you must raise a minimum of €300. Half of your €300 will go directly to Breakthrough Cancer Research and help them in their quest to research and develop new treatments for cancer patients throughout the country.

Your money will also contribute towards the cost of state-of-the-art equipment that is needed to treat cancers with a poor prognosis.

“We wanted to do something exciting and different to support the incredible work of Breakthrough Cancer Research. This is the very first time people in Ireland will have the opportunity to fly an aerobatics airplane and do a Loop the Loop, so we hope you fly high for cancer research,” said Captain Allen Field of the Atlantic Flight Centre.

Once you raise your money, you’re free to do your loop the loop any time you want as the fundraising event will be running for the rest of the year – perfect if you need a week or two to work up the nerve to do it.

If you’re ready to take to the skies for cancer research, you can find out more details about the fundraiser and apply for a sponsorship pack by contacting 1890 998 998 or visiting www.breakthroughcancerresearch.ie.
