GIF: Joey Barton struck on the head during yesterday’s game at Turf Moor
QPR midfielder Joey Barton may be one of the most outspoken players around, but that was no excuse for this stupid act from a Burnley fan yesterday.
‘Arry Redknapp’s side lost this top, top of the table clash at Turf Moor yesterday in a game where the former England player was hit on the head with a Coke bottle.
Naturally the online reaction has been mixed, but regardless of your opinion on the player, one Burnley fan overstepped the mark. Incredibly, one particular supporter has taken “credit” for the incident, so no doubt the police will be delighted with that piece of information.
I was the guy who threw the bottle at Joey Barton.

The defeat brought to an end QPR’s unbeaten start to the season and after the match Barton made on reference to the bottle throwing, simply reflecting on the 2-0 defeat graciously.
Congratulations to Burnley. Throughly deserved all 3 points today. Nowhere near good enough from us.
