Greatest Name Ever: Brazilian boy is named after so many footballers that he can’t remember his name

We're just going to call him Jim...

We’re just going to call him Jim…

JOE absolutely loves our name because it’s short, strong and easy to remember. If we were Brazilian we would be called JOEzinho, Croatian JOEivic, German JOEsef… you get the idea.

Today is a strange day though because for the first time ever, we are jealous about someone else’s name. Just read this story about a 7-year-old Brazilian boy and the greatest name in the history of the world.

The boy’s father, Petrucio Santos apparently became a huge fan of French football after visiting the country and it definitely shows in his son’s name. Soon after France beat Brazil at the ’06 World Cup, Santos’s son was born and he marked the special day in the only way he knew how.

Ladies and gentlemen, allow JOE to introduce: Zinedine Yazid Zidane Thierry Henry Barthez Eric Felipe Silva Santos.

“I don’t know the rest of my names yet. I never learned them,” he told Brazil’s Globo’s G1 website.

Zinedine Zidane, Thierry Henry and Fabien Barthez are all obvious references, however, little Zidane’s name also include an homage to Eric Cantona and Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari. You won’t be surprised to hear that the boy simply refers to himself as “Zidane.”

This isn’t the first time that JOE has seen this sort of devotion, love, madness… whatever you want to call it.

David Fearn, a council worker from Walsall, once legally changed his name to James Bond and included all of the Bond film titles as his middle names.

He is now legally known as (pause for long breath), James Dr No From Russia With Love Goldfinger Thunderball You Only Live Twice On Her Majesty’s Secret Ser vice Diamonds Are Forever Live And Let Die The Man With The Golden Gun The Spy Who Loved Me Moonraker For Your Eyes Only Octopussy A View To A Kill The Living Daylights Licence To Kill Golden Eye Tomorrow Never Dies The World Is Not Enough Die Another Day Casino Royale Bond.

The name’s Bond, James Bond… with a few other names in between.

So what do you think guys? James Bond or a list of famous footballers. Which one is better?
