Manchester City are claiming today that their computer-based scouting network has allegedly been hacked by an employee of another rival club

There has been no word on who the club could be, but the Daily Mirror are reporting that the ‘Scout 7’ program, where they log all their detailed scouting reports, was hacked, divulging information about every player they’ve tracked in the last few years. We imagine that the words “Current club: Arsenal” probably popped up a fair bit on that list.

Given that they got rid of Roberto Mancini on the basis that they want to concentrate on bringing through talented players and relying on their scouting network, the lads in charge are said to be pretty upset with the breach and possible leaking of their targets to rival clubs.

Manuel Pellegrini was apparently not made aware of the problem, with the hack occurring last month before he was appointed, but the sporting directors are apparently very concerned, and want to shore up the leak.

Not that it would be of much use to any other club who has less than a kajillion pounds in their bank account of course, but they have called in a group of experts to see if they can find the culprit.
