Have you got World Cup fever yet? Okay, it is still a wee bit early but World Cup squad announcement season has begun and that might just get you in the mood for the big summer football jamboree.

Yesterday Bosnia got the ball rolling by naming their 23 but with all due respect, the Brazil squad just named by Phil Scolari is a whole lot sexier.

Announced in front of a mind-blowing 700 members of the press in Rio this afternoon, here’s the panel picked to do the business in their home country.

Goalkeepers: Júlio César (Toronto FC), Jéfferson (Botafogo), Victor (Grêmio)

Defenders: Daniel Alves (Barcelona), Maicon (Internazionale), Marcelo (Real Madrid), Maxwell (Paris Saint-Germain), David Luiz (Chelsea), Thiago Silva (Paris Saint-Germain), Dante (Bayern Munich), Henrique (Napoli)

Midfielders: Luiz Gustavo (Wolfsburg), Paulinho (Tottenham), Ramires (Chelsea), Fernandinho (Manchester City), Oscar (Chelsea), Willian (Chelsea), Hernanes (Internazionale), Bernard (Shakhtar Donetsk)

Forwards: Fred (Fluminense), Neymar (Barcelona), Hulk (Zenit St Petersburg), Jô (Atlético Mineiro)

Six Premeir League players are in, but the likes of Pato, Lucas Moura, Coutinho, Lucas Leiva, Kaka and, sadly, Ronaldinho, don’t make the initial 23. Injuries may see some of those come in but that is still one hell of a strong bunch of players.
