Inter Milan consider dream Catalan pairing of Fabregas and Guardiola

Italian footballing giants Inter Milan are developing plans to lure Catalan duo of Cesc Fabregas and Pep Guardiola to the San Siro.

Internazionale were quiet during last summer's transfer window and have drawn up ambitious plans to swoop on the highly valued Arsenal captain and the highly successful Barcelona manager next summer if the current Serie A side, under the command of Rafa Benitez, does not seriously improve their performance.

Benitez has struggled to fit into the giant designer shoes of his predecessor Jose Mourinho who took the Italian team to Champions League victory prior to leaving for Real Madrid (who, under the preening Portuguese genius, remain unbeaten).

Guardiola has less than a year to run on his contract at Barcelona and so could be in a perfect position to swap the Camp Nou for the San Siro. Inter have already spoken with him about possibly making the switch.

Fabregas looked set to leave for Barcelona last summer but a Arsenal rejected a formal €35million offer. He has consistently pledged his support for Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, but has also voiced his concern at the club's current trophy drought and is sure to be the prime transfer target again next year.
