Irish redheads break world record after baking 4695 ginger nuts in Cork

If you’re a fan of all things ginger then get yourself down to Carrigaline in Co. Cork as the guys and girls of the Irish Redhead Convention have just broken a world record by baking 4695 ginger nuts by hand in one hour. A bakery in Otawa, Canada, held the previous record of 1809 cookies baked in an hour, but the bakers in Hassett's have well and truly smashed that figure this morning. If you’d like to sample some of the record breaking ginger nuts then you can buy them from the Irish Redhead Convention website or from Hassett’s artisan bakery in Carrigaline, Co. Cork. All proceeds made from the cookies will be donated to the Irish Cancer Society. Well done to all involved and judging by the pics they’re some damn tasty ginger nuts.
