Robert Downey Jnr and co. return for a third installment of Iron Man. Here are the character posters.

Iron Man 3 sees inventor Tony Stark continue on his Iron Man quest to keep the world baddie-free. This one sees Don Cheadle get his own body suit as Iron Man’s sidekick War Machine and Ben Kingsley as the nasty villain The Mandarin, set on destroying Stark’s world.

Downey Jr. teams with his Kiss Kiss Bang Bang director Shane Black (who also wrote Lethal Weapon) for the third Iron Man flick. Jon Favreau, who directed the first two movies, is instead producing this time. Gwyneth Paltrow returns as Stark’s long-suffering girlfriend while Guy Pearce takes on the role of scientist Aldrich Killian.

Iron Man 3 looks much darker than the previous movies in the franchise, but still appears to have some of the Tony Stark wit and banter thankfully. This is the seventh Marvel story to make it to the big screen, including The Avengers movie which brought the Hulk, Thor, Iron Man, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow together.

Iron Man 3 will be made 3D in post-production. It is scheduled for release in Ireland on April 26.
