Swedish thriller sequel Easy Money 2, sees social climber and criminal JW released from prison to get revenge
By Genna Patterson
Easy Money 2, also known as Snabba Cash II in Swedish, is a tense film follow up to the 2010 original. The first movie saw Johan "JW" Westlund (Joel Kinnaman) live a double life in upper class Stockholm. When he met a wealthy girl, he was enticed into a life of organised crime.

JW was jailed at the end of the first movie and the second movie sees him get day release on his sentence after three years. Instead of keeping his head down and himself out of trouble, he sets out to free previous enemy Mrado so that they can both track down the man who set them both up to get caught.
The movies are based on a 2006 Swedish novel of the same name by Jens Lapidus. Apparently the films are so well received that there will be a third installment and Warner Bros have bought the rights to remake the first Easy Money. Lead actor Kinnaman is due to play Robocop in a new remake too. Directed by Daniel Espinosa (Safe House).
Showing on Sunday February 24, Cineworld, Parnell Street, Dublin at 3.20 pm
