Kind-hearted Ipswich player sorts out tickets for broke fan on Twitter

Footballers get a bad rap at the best of times but one Ipswich footballer helped restore faith in them with a brilliant gesture towards a broke fan yesterday.

Ipswich were in action against Bolton at Portman Road yesterday and before the game, young defender Tyrone Mings posted a tweet saying how three points would be a perfect birthday present as Mick McCarthy’s men battle to avoid relegation from the Championship.

Amongst the responses to Mings’ tweet was a post by an Ipswich fan saying how much he would like to go to the game but couldn’t because he couldn’t afford it, which prompted the following reaction from the 19-year old, no doubt much to the surprise of the fan himself.

One Ming might be in the headlines for all the wrong reasons over here, but the young Ipswich player deserves all the kudos he’s going to get for such an incredibly kind-hearted gesture and the Tractor Boys ended up beating Bolton 1-0 so it was a good day all round.

Brilliant.
