Leave the car at home as treacherous driving conditions continue

The latest update and advice on the cold snap for motorists is to leave the car at home, the AA has said.

Commuters are advised to for public transport where possible. Unnecessary journeys should be cancelled as freezing temperatures and ongoing snowfall mean driving conditions across much of the country remain treacherous.

Iarnród Éireann is advising customers that all Intercity, DART and Commuter services are operating fully, but Dublin Bus is warning of some disruption on its routes.

In particular, those operating on minor roads in counties Louth, Cavan, Waterford, south Wexford and Kilkenny may be subject to diversion and possible cancellation.

Also, the Dublin Airport to Rosslare Bus Eireann services will only operate to and from Gorey. Earlier, the 8am Dundalk to Newry service was cancelled.
