Liverpool through to Europa League knockout stages

Liverpool secured their place in the last 32 of the Europa League with a draw away to Steaua Bucharest last night.

The Reds were on their way to securing all three points in Romania after Milan Jovanovic put them ahead when he found the bottom corner with a header from Ryan Babel's cross.

Pepe Reina’s error in the second half granted Steaua an equaliser. Eder Bomfim’s header squirmed under Reina and over the line.

Roy Hodgson opted for a weakened side last night with eight regular first-teamers either missing through injury or being rested.
