Liverpool trounce hapless West Ham 3-0

Recently under-fire right-back Glen Johnson came off the treatment bench and on the scoresheet for Liverpool tonight as the Reds celebrated a comfortable 3-0 victory over 20th-placed West Ham United.

Quickly followed by a Dirk Kuyt penalty and Maxi Rodriguez headed goal, Liverpool had a three-goal lead before 40 minutes had even elapsed, causing some beleagured Hammers fans to leave en masse.

A slight improvement from West Ham in the second half and a couple of excellent saves from Rob Green mattered little to a Hammers side that had gone to Anfield with a three-game unbeaten streak under their belt.

With both Wolves and West Ham losing in today’s action, both sides are now five points off 18th-placed Wigan and must surely be early certainties for relegation.
