City to give Mancini €80 million for double swoop in January

Wolfsburg's Edin Džeko and Barcelona's Dani Alves are targets for big spending Manchester City, according to reports in the Sunday Mirror.

Roberto Mancini had a meeting with Garry Cook, Brian Marwood and Graham ­Wallace recently, but not over his future apparently.

Instead he is to be given substantial funds in January to push for fourth place and a spot in the Champions League.

“It says everything about ­Roberto’s position," a supposed Manchester City insider told the Mirror, "that his ­future was never on the ­agenda and was not ­mentioned once during talks.

“The meeting was arranged so that commercial issues and matters involving property and the continuing development plan for east Manchester could be discussed.
