Giggs would consider managing Ireland

Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has revealed that he would consider managing the Republic of Ireland one day.

The Reds winger, 37-years-old today, told the Sunday World magazine of his desire to follow former United team-mate Roy Keane into management and has already begun preparations for life after playing.

‘I’d like to follow Roy (Keane) into management actually,’ the Welshman said.

‘I’ve got a few of my coaching badges so that’s definitely the aim once I retire. I have no idea where I’ll manage.’

‘Who knows? If I’m lucky enough to get them then why not? Why not Ireland?’

Birthday boy Giggs is nearing the end of his playing career and perhaps he will be the man to eventually replace Giovanni Trapattoni in the Ireland job.
