Manchester United set to sign prolific Bundesliga midfielder

Alex Ferguson is considering a move for 1899 Hoffenheim and Iceland midfielder Gylfi Þór Sigurðsson, according to reports in the English media.

Sigurðsson, who only signed for 1899 Hoffenheim this summer for £6.5 million from Reading, has started the new season in Germany in sensational form.

The 21-year old, who is a set-piece specialist, has scored four goals from six appearances and also provided an assist.

Sigurðsson scored 23 goals in 48 matches for Reading in 2009/2010 in the Championship and was awarded Reading Player of the Season.

His current valuation is said to be somewhere in the region of £9 million.
