You don’t need to be a qualified psychiatrist to realise that Diego Maradona is off the walls, so his latest ramblings aren’t overly surprising.
By Declan Whooley
The 52 year-old, who is working as a sports consultant in Dubai at the minute, is now the proud father to three-month old Dieguito Fernando, and despite his tender age, already has plans for where he will play on the football pitch.
And not just his own son, he has also earmarked his grandson, Manchester City striker Kun Aguero’s son (four years old) and Leo Messi’s first child (three months) in his formation for the future. If the genes are only half as good as their fathers, then it could make for some attacking line-up.
“One of them will have to play as a midfielder. I think Thiago (Messi) will command the others. Benjamin (Aguero) will play as a forward and Thiago will play alongside Dieguito Fernando,” Maradona told a local radio station from Dubai.
Maradona has a 26 year-old son who is playing the fourth division of Argentinian football, but clearly has high hopes for young Dieguito.
No pressure anyway for the young lads.
