Mark Hughes earns how much? The crazy world of managerial salaries revealed

We all know that there are lots of footballers out there who get paid too much but some managerial salaries are a bit mental too.

The good people at Futebol Finance have compiled the top 30 list of the world’s best paid managers and there are some startling revelations. From an Irish point of view we checked to see if Trap made the list. He didn’t, but he must have been close as the 30^th guy on the list is Juve boss Antonio Conte on €1.6million, just €100,000 more than Trap if reports are to be believed.

Anyway, no prizes for guessing the top dog. Jose Mourinho, despite not winning La Liga (yet) or the Champions League for Real Madrid draws down €10m a year from the Spanish giants. Nice. Rival Pep Guardiola is second on €7.5m, the same as Guss Hiddink at Russian superclub Anzhi.

Top Premier League man is Roberto Mancini on €6m, while Fergie, Kenny Dalglish, Arsene Wenger and Harry Redknapp all earn pretty much the same, around €4.9m.

But then it gets odd. Thirteenth on the list is Mark Hughes, on €3.6m. That’s twice as much Inter boss Claudio Ranieri, who gets, just €1.8m. For managing QPR.

Other odd ones are Diego Maradona’s €3.5m wedge at Al-Wasl and that Ottmar Hitzfeld of Switzerland is the highest paid international boss on €2.6m. Though, whoever gets the England job will catapult up the list you imagine.
