Dublin-born Eoin Morgan has been England’s leading player in the World Twenty20 cricket tournament and will be on fire against Pakistan in the Super Eights today according to team director Andy Flower.
The former Ireland batsman has been in superb form in the tournament so far with contributions of 55 against West Indies and a contribution of 45 in the victory against his old team-mates.
Andy Flower knows the capabilities of Morgan and is grateful to have a player of such experience and technique is incredible.
“Anyone who can hit the ball as cleanly as he does, and hit some of the shots he does, obviously has a great combination,” said Flower.
“We’re very thankful to have him. He’s an interesting character, he brings a lot to our changing room, and obviously a lot to our side when he’s got the bat in his hand.
“He’s measured things brilliantly. I think it shows a great understanding of the game.
“I think he’s captained quite a lot through his age groups in Ireland, and I think some of that understanding of the game comes through in his batting.”
England face Pakistan at 1.30pm in Barbados.
