NFL legend Brett Favre sued for sexual harassment

NFL legend Brett Favre has been sued for sexual harassment by two masseurs from his former team, the New York Jets.

Favre, who played for the Minnesota Vikings this season but announced his retirement from the game (we’ve heard that one before) on Sunday, has been accused by Christina Scavo and Shannon O’Toole of propositioning them for sex and of sending them lewd text messages.

They are seeking unspecified damages from Favre, the Jets and a team massage coordinator in a lawsuit filed Monday.

They say they lost their part-time jobs with the Jets after complaining about sexually suggestive text messages from the veteran quarterback while he was with the team in 2008.

Favre is believed to have texted O'Toole with the messages: "Brett here you and crissy want to get together im all alone" and "Kinda lonely tonight I guess I have bad intentions".

Scavo told her husband, according to the lawsuit, and he contacted Favre seeking an apology and an end to such contacts. Favre "responded in an inappropriate manner and refused to apologise", according to the lawsuit. Scavo said he treated her “like a hanging slab of meat.”

"He essentially told him to go away and as a celebrity he couldn't be bothered with the little people," David Jarosclawicz, the therapists' lawyer, told the New York Post.

The suit calls the Jets locker room “a hot bed of sexual harassment, sexism and inappropriate behavior,” and is a further blow to the reputation of the Jets after attractive female reporter Ines Sainz complained of being made uncomfortable by leering Jets players and management on a visit to the Jets’ training centre earlier this year.

As for Favre, the allegations will undoubtedly tarnish the legacy of one of the greatest quarterbacks of modern times.
