Niall Horan on crutches and Mike Phillips being dropped on the same day is a little bit suspicious

Coincidence? We think not.

Coincidence? We think not.

Some may have thought that one of the most unlikely spats in the history of both rugby and pop music came to an end when Niall Horan and Mike Phillips didn’t accept Paddy Power’s efforts to face-off in the boxing ring for charity last week, but although they didn’t do so in public, maybe they tried to settle their differences mano-a-mano away from prying eyes.

That was the suspicion raised on Twitter last night by Dublin-based sports hack Andy McGeady, whose curiosity was piqued by Niall Horan appearing in crutches in public on the same day that Mike Phillips was dropped from the Welsh team and endured a dressing down from coach Warren Gatland.

Some would, of course, come up with logical reasons for both events like Horan recently undergoing knee surgery and Phillips being dropped and getting a telling-off for playing poorly and acting like a bit of an ass against Ireland at the Aviva, but we’re not convinced, not convinced at all.

Like Andy said, surely someone must have footage of the fisticuffs? If so, we’d be happy to give it a more public airing so feel free to get in touch.
