O’Connell going back to his roots with Young Munster

Paul O’Connell is set to line out for his old club Young Munster on Friday evening.

The Munster and Ireland second row is recovering from a groin injury and is believed to be ready to get some game time in against Limerick rivals Shannon in a Division 1A All-Ireland League encounter.

O’Connell has been out of action since last March and so his return is tentative. If he comes through the game successfully then he may be in line for a return to Magners League action against Cardiff Blues at Thomond Park on 4 December.

The bigger picture, however, is his possible availability for Munster's critically important Heineken Cup clash against the Ospreys in Limerick on 12 December.
