Paul Jewell to succeed Roy Keane at Ipswich Town

Former Wigan, Bradford and Derby manager Paul Jewell is expected to be named Roy Keane's Ipswich Town successor this weekend.

Ipswich have officially sacked Keane after having to be pulled away from protesting fans by stewards following Town's defeat to Nottingham Forest on Monday.

The Tractor boys are up against Chelsea in the FA Cup third round this weekend and it is envisaged that Jewell will assume control after watching the game from the stands, reports suggest.

Keane was in charge at Portman Road for 20 months but it all ended sour on Monday when he had to be pulled away from protesting fans by stewards following the defeat to Nottingham Forest.

Ipswich are now lying in 19 th place in the Championship.
