Snow has wreaked havoc on the Accenture Match Play Championship, but as it stands Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry are meant to tee-off later this evening.
By Declan Whooley
All of yesterday’s play was cancelled with the course in Tucson covered in a white carpet. The two golfers are set to clash at 6.30pm Irish time, though Offaly man Lowry voiced his doubts that this would happen earlier.
“Not looking good at all folks. Still a lot of snow on the ground,” he tweeted earlier.
Given the heavy snowfall, this picture has proved a hit on Twitter, apparently showing the two Irish golfers making their way to the first tee.

The picture is obviously a slight exaggeration of the truth, but judging by some of the images that we have seen from the course, it does appear that the groundsmen will be doing well to make sure the tournament gets underway today.
BBC’s golf correspondent Iain Carter posted a picture of the course today and while the snowing has stopped, it is still covered in a white blanket.

Maybe the lads will just use the time for a snowball fight.
