Pic: It didn’t take long for an alternative version of the Tyrone ‘facts’ sheet to arrive

The ‘facts’ sheet produced by Tyrone officials defending themselves against accusations of cynicism provoked plenty of debate last night and it didn’t take long for someone to take the mick.

The Red Handers have come in for plenty of public criticism over the last few weeks for alleged cynical play in their path to the All-Ireland semi-final, particularly in the victory over Monaghan last time out, when, thanks mainly to Joe Brolly, THAT tackle by Sean Cavanagh proved a topic of national debate for days afterwards.

On Tuesday night, it was confirmed that Conor Gormley had received a one-match ban that will rule him out of the All-Ireland semi-final with Mayo for his role in a melee at half-time in the Monaghan game, a melee which also resulted in the dismissal of Martin Penrose before the start of the second half. Tyrone have confirmed that they will appeal both bans.

Angered by the avalanche of criticism, a ‘facts sheet’ put together by Tyrone officials in defence of their reputation was distributed at the press night ahead of the semi-final last night and prompted plenty of debate after it was circulated on social media by those in attendance.

Shortly after, an alternative ‘facts sheet’ taking the opposite stance to what had been stated on the original began to do the rounds and although it won’t go down too well with Tyrone fans and we disassociate ourselves completely with the content within, it got plenty of exposure on social media last night.

Make of it what you will after having a look below.
