And, it would appear, against his will too…

With the likes of *pauses for breath* Rickie Lambert, Luke Shaw, Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren and Calum Chambers having already left the club, Southampton need another high-profile departure right now like we need a kick up the arse.

Reports in recent days have suggested that the exodus might not be over just yet and that Tottenham were doing their best to reunite Jay Rodriguez and Morgan Schneiderlin with old boss Mauricio Pochettino, although Saints chairman Ralph Krueger dampened speculation surrounding the pair by insisting they were not for sale.

Any relief Southampton fans would have felt after Krueger’s comments will have quickly evaporated this evening, however, after Morgan Schneiderlin posted the following tweet suggesting that his time at St. Mary’s was about to come to an end (in the event that it’s deleted, we have also included a screen grab below).

The tone of the tweet would suggest that if the Frenchman is to leave Southampton that it is against his will, but it certainly doesn’t look good nonetheless…
