Pics: We hope not many West Ham fans get the club onesie or dressing gown as Christmas presents

How a club with a fashion icon like Sam Allardyce as their manager authorised the release of this sort of material, we’ll never know.

December is fast approaching, which means ‘tis the season for Premier League clubs to release a collection of shocking-looking merchandise, knowing full well that said merchandise will be snapped up by, most likely, the girlfriends and spouses of football fans thinking that they will make for the perfect Christmas gift.

We would hope that anyone receiving these particular items of West Ham merchandise as gifts, if they have even a modicum of fashion sense, would react in the same way as Ravel Morrison when he was pictured wearing a club hat and scarf while posing alongside Carlton Cole, who looks particularly happy in the incredibly gaudy claret and blue dressing gown.

Then again, Carlton has only played 55 minutes of Premier League football this season so maybe he’s happy just to be wearing any sort of club gear, no matter how ridiculous it looks.

If you thought the dressing room was bad, prepare to avert your eyes away from the West Ham onesies as modelled by Adrián San Miguel and Razvan Rat.

Not great surely, but probably not as bad as arguably the worst item of club clothing we’ve seen, the infamous Liverpool stadium jacket…
