After the madness outside Supermacs in Galway to kick off Rag Week last night, hundreds of Donegal heads decided to get an early start on a day known as Donegal Tuesday.

Anyone that’s ever experienced Rag Week in any college in Ireland will know that normal rules don’t apply, hence the sight of a queue of hundreds of students in Donegal jerseys queuing up outside the Hole in the Wall pub in Galway at 10am this morning isn’t that much of a surprise.

Students from Donegal donned the county colours in the City of the Tribes today to mark ‘Donegal Tuesday’, which, according to the event’s Facebook page was established “to celebrate Daniel O’Donnell, Football Special, Jim McGuinness and all things from the hills”.

The page goes on to say that “In honour of our fine county we’re gonna wreck the Hole, wreck Ardara and pull up Brian’s trousers. Pints at the ready and shots on standby. Dust off your finest of the green and gold as the ultimate day of celebration approaches”.

Judging by the picture tweeted by Donegal footballer Mark McHugh this afternoon; it seems like every Donegal student in the city is ready to join in the fun.

First the All-Ireland, now Galway, the latest step on Donegal’s path to world domination.

Madness.
