QPR striker Jamie Mackie has called El-Hadji Diouf an 'absolute disgrace' after the Blackburn striker abused Mackie while he lay in agony on the pitch with a broken leg.
Mackie suffered a double fracture in a 50/50 clash with Rovers defender Gael Givet during the FA Cup third round tie at Ewood Park on Saturday, with both players having to be stretchered from the field as a result.
Diouf was seen in the vicinity of Mackie following the challenge and is alleged to have insulted Mackie while he lay writhing on the ground.
As is the style these days, Mackie vented his rage on Twitter in the aftermath of the incident saying: “Proper disappointed that Diouf was in my ear while I am on the deck with a broken leg saying ‘f*ck u and f*ck your leg’ – thanks.”
QPR manager Neil Warnock described Diouf after the game as "the gutter type", adding: "I was going to call him a sewer rat but that might be insulting to sewer rats."
And Mackie was equally incensed, describing Diouf's alleged behaviour as "repulsive".
"I'm lying on the floor with a bad injury and even his team-mates were embarrassed by what Diouf was saying,” Mackie is quoted as saying in The Sun.
"There's no room for that in the game - and in my opinion he's an absolute disgrace.
"I'm trying hard not to think about Diouf. That's because when I do it makes me want to snap my cast off and run up there and find him.
"There's no place in football for the likes of Diouf. There's a line and he crossed it. Diouf was repulsive," he added.
Diouf is no stranger to controversy, having earned a bad boy reputation for a series of ugly incidents throughout his career. He was caught spitting at fans while playing for both Liverpool and Middlesbrough, where he was also spotted spitting in the face of Portsmouth defender Arjan de Zeeuw.
He also is alleged to have called an Everton ballboy ‘whiteboy’ during a game in September 2009 after he accused Everton fans of abusing him with racial taunts and of throwing bananas in his direction.
