Redknapp plans to bring Newcastle’s Andy Carroll to Spurs

Harry Redknapp aims to make a €23million bid for Newcastle's Andy Carroll and is prepared to dump Ireland captain Robbie Keane when the transfer window reopens, according to the Irish News of the World.

The news comes as the Newcastle striker received a call up to the England squad by Fabio Capello.

In order to afford the signing, which will be part of a revamp of the Spurs frontline aimed at ensuring qualification to the Champions League again, someone has to go.

The News of the World claims that Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy says Keane, Peter Crouch or Roman Pavlyuchenko must go to make room, with Keane the favourite of the three to find himself saying goodbye to White Hart Lane come January.

Carroll only signed a new five year deal with the Geordie club last month.
