Last night the world stopped to watch one of the biggest matches in recent memory, as Real Madrid met Manchester United at Old Trafford, and we all saw that decision.
By Adrian Collins
Referee Cuneyt Cakir has been in the spotlight since he made the now infamous decision to send of Luis Nani at a vital point of the game last night, effectively handing the impetus to Real Madrid.
Madrid themselves do deserve some credit for pushing on and grabbing the win with both hands, but Sir Alex Ferguson will certainly be pointing to the sending off above anything else as the moment that changed the game.
The conspiracy theorists will be going mad on this one anyway, given how it didn't look like a challenge punishable by a red card, but there has been fuel added to the fire as it seems that Cuneyt Cakir has a Twitter account, and he follows Real Madrid.

He hasn't tweeted since the 28th of February, when he said that he was withdrawing from Twitter since he didn't deserve all the insults he was receiving after sending off Maurice Edu in a Turkish league game.
While the referee's account doesn't have the official blue tick to suggest that it's really him, we can only imagine he'd be getting a lot more grief today than he did for the Edu sending off.
Without confirmation that this is really him, however, it will simply add a bit more fuel to the fire for people who want to find a reason behind his decision last night.
Hat-tip to the lads at 101greatgoals for this one.
