According to
reports in the Telegraph tonight, the Saints are close to agreeing a £7million deal with Liverpool for their England international Rickie Lambert.
Reds manager Brendan Rodgers is keen on Lambert as he see's him as the perfect cover for his two main strikers, Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge.
Liverpool have reportedly also made bids for the 32 year old's Southampton teammates Adam Lallana and Dejan Lovren but Lambert looks like being the first in the door.
The move would be a fairytale story for the man who's previous clubs include Rochdale, Stockport County and Bristol Rovers.
