The All-Ireland winning Donegal footballer and 2012 All-Star is believed to have left the Donegal panel this evening.

Mark McHugh, Gary McFadden and Thomas McKinley are all believed to have left the Donegal panel in a shock move this evening, which has come as a surprise not only to supporters but to members of the County Board also.

According to RTÉ Sport, a spokesman for the Donegal County Board said that he was “stunned” by the news, adding that “we had no warning of it”.

The Donegal Democrat reached out to McHugh for comment, but he refused to confirm whether or not he had left the panel, stating only that he was “waiting to talk to Jim McGuinness”.

It is believed that McFadden and McKinley have told the management team that they don’t want to be part of the panel anymore, while McHugh, who was an All-Star in 2012, was used only as a substitute in their League Final defeat to Monaghan at the weekend.
