Reports suggest that Mourinho to Chelsea is a ‘done deal’

Jose Mourinho was at Stamford Bridge last night to watch Brazil take on Russia, but various reports are suggesting he will be back permanently in the summer.

The Special One was back at his old stomping ground last night fuelling the fire of a return, though he was asked as a guest of the Brazilian FA.

It is widely expected that the Portuguese manager will end a turbulent, yet successful, three years at Real Madrid this summer. Despite winning silverware at a time of unprecedented success for rivals Barcelona, he has failed to win over fans, and has hinted on more than one occasion he will leave Spain at the end of the season.

At the weekend Mourinho said that he could “go back to somewhere I have already been”, and though he is the master at playing the media, it appears that Roman Abramovich wants to bring the club’s most successful manager back to the Bridge.

The two men put their differences behind them soon after his hasty exit from Chelsea in 2007 and gifts of a £2 million Ferrari and £350,000 watch as gifts to Mourinho have been mentioned.

Sources have said that a three year deal has been agreed, though the position of technical director Michael Emenalo, a close friend of the Russian owner,  could be a sticking point for Mourinho.

English football would certainly be a more exciting place with his presence.
