Robbie Keane ruled out of Austria game

Ireland captain Robbie Keane has suffered an injury and has been ruled out of the game on Tuesday against Austria.

Giovanni Trapattoni is going to have to get the phone out and send an apology to text to Kevin Doyle, as it seems that his captain is out of action for the Austria game.

Robbie Keane has apparently picked up a calf strain and will be unable to play on Tuesday in the vital qualifier game.

Wolves striker Kevin Doyle, who expressed his dissatisfaction with how he had been treated by the management after being dropped by text, will come into the fold, but there may be some issues to iron out between himself and Trapattoni before that can happen.

Given that Keane's name is normally the first on the team sheet, it'll be an interesting shake up for Trap to make, although it most certainly will not be a welcome one from his point of view.
