Rooney’s blindfolded volley as Class of 2013 take on Yorke and Cole

The Andy Cole/Dwight Yorke partnership for Man. Utd during the Treble-winning season was exceptional, but the 2013 vintage were keen to show their wares.

The two strikers bagged an impressive 53 goals between them in that all-conquering season, tormenting defences all over England and across Europe, with Teddy Sheringham and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer doing more than their bit when called upon, as Bayern Munich fans know only too well.

The understanding between Yorke and Cole was famed, and described as ‘telepathic’ by many. This video shows the duo pitting their wits against the current crop of United strikers, with RVP the notable absentee.

Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez are blind-folded to see what kind of understanding they have, and while Rooney takes a couple of balls to the face – excuse the phraseology – his does score a peach of a finish with the blindfold on. Shades of Man City about that one.
